Sind Atheisten auch Satanisten?

Die Antwort lautet definitiv: «Nein».

Um Satanist zu sein, müsste man an erst einen Teufel glauben. Atheisten glauben weder an einen Gott noch an einen Teufel¹⁾.

Die Frage taucht wohl hin und wieder auf, wenn darauf hingewiesen wird, dass man angesichts des blindwütigen und zerstörerischen Gottes der Bibel der Teufel die eigentliche Heldenfigur der Bibel sei, da er sich als einziger dem göttlichen Tyrannen widersetzt. Hier geht es aber rein um Gott und den Teufel als Romanfiguren, nicht als existierende Wesen.

¹⁾ Genauer gesagt gibt es auch eine Form des Satanismus, welche keinen Teufel voraussetzt, sondern stattdessen den Menschen vergöttlicht. Diese Form ist aber nicht das, was sich Christen unter Satanismus vorstellen. Wobei Christen hier (wie bei vielem) vermutlich eine falsche Vorstellung von der Wirklichkeit haben. Die Zahl der «Satanisten», die nachts in Friedhöfe einbrechen und dort schwarze Messen halten, Tiere opfern oder Grabsteine schänden, dürfte sich auf ein paar Jugendliche beschränken, die einen Adrenalinschub suchen.
